The first US-built Airbus A220 aircraft was delivered to customer

Airbus, European aircraft manufacturer, has implemented the first A220-300 aircraft produced in the USA. The Canadian-designed A220-300 vehicle has been handed over to US-based Delta Air Lines, according to news agency ATO. The landmark event has taken place on October 22nd, over 14 months since the company has started producing these vehicles at Alabama factory, where it also produces medium-haul A320 aircrafts.
Airbus acquired the CSeries short-haul aircraft program (seating 100–160 seats) from Canada's Bombardier in July 2018, designated it A220, and promptly has implemented the second production in Mobile. The main production of the aircraft is located in Mirabelle (Quebec; Canada). Construction of the A220 workshop began in January 2019, and in August, Airbus has begun producing aircrafts. The first A220 aircraft assembled in the United States operated in June this year. In order to continue a right exploitation, Airbus was trained about 400 American employees.
Delta Air Lines has ordered 95 A220 aircrafts, more than any other airline in the world, and has an option for another 50 aircrafts of this type. The carrier currently operates 22 aircrafts, nine aircrafts are in storage. By the end of September, Airbus had delivered 123 A220s aircrafts worldwide, orders pending for execution includes 516 aircrafts.
