Ryanair reduces more than 30 percent of flights and closes basic airports in Europe

Ryanair, the largest low-cost carrier in Europe, has been forced to terminate flights and reduce a third of flights due to ongoing coronavirus-related restrictions. In the current situation of a practical shutdown, Ryanair has adopted the decision to abandon every third route in its flight network this winter. The reason is extremely low demand amid the coronavirus measures throughout Europe.
Reduced traffic of the company between March and November 2020 is up to 60 percent of previous year's indicators. These indicators are derived from the prediction, previously it was scheduled to reduce only 40 percent. According to airline representatives, a minimum load to continue operations must be at least 70%. It would be unrealistic, as "the government is effectively killing the industry due to mismanagement of EU air transport."
Experts forecasts are disappointing: there will inevitably be new reduction and to re-establish the activities to an acceptable level would be able after an "effective vaccine against Covid-19". Ryanair is also closing its bases in Cork and Shannon, both in Ireland, as well as in Toulouse, France, for a period of at least 5 months until April 2021. In order to keep the business, Ryanair is forced to reduce ticket prices by presenting special offers. Other airlines, such as EasyJet, TUI and British Airways, undertake the same activities.
