Airbus has officially launched the ACJ TwoTwenty program, a corporate jet powered by the A220-100 regional aircraft (formerly Bombardier CSeries). The customer was Comlux Aviation, placing orders for two aircrafts, as reported by ATO.
Airbus noted that TwoTwenty is creating a new class of business jet: the Xtra Large Bizjet. Aircraft's range is 10,500 km, flying time of a non-stop flight exceeds 12 hours, making it possible to connect such cities as Moscow and Jakarta, London and Los Angeles, Tokyo and Dubai, Beijing and Melbourne. The cabin can be equipped with up to six isolated zones; more spacious than the largest of the Gulfstream or Bombardier business jets, but smaller than the Airbus A320-based corporate jet. Airbus offers various cabin layouts to accommodate up to 18 passengers.
Comlux is the single operator, buying aircrafts at their own expense and then looking for a client for interior fittings. The client is able to hand over his aircraft to Comlux management. After receiving contracts for four A320neos, the company has become the largest decorating center for this type. The Comlux division in Kazakhstan (Comlux KZ) has been operating a Sukhoi Business Jet (SBJ) since 2017, based on the Russian regional SSJ 100 aircraft on behalf of the Kazakhstan brass producer Kazakhmys.
