Ministry of Health encourages to reduce air traffic with four countries

Due to the worsening epidemiological situation in several countries and imported cases of coronavirus infection in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Health encourages to reduce flights with Ukraine, the UAE, Germany and Belarus, according to Vice Minister of Health, Chief Medical Officer Yerlan Kiyasov, as reported by Kapital.kz.

“In accordance with the decree of the Chief Medical Officer, from 00:00 on October 6, 33,600 citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreigners were crossing the state border through motor vehicle crossing points, including 10,051 passengers, 3322 persons have been quarantined in hospitals, of which 60 persons had a positive result.

14 832 passengers arrived on international flights, of which 3051 were tested, 9 persons had a positive result", Yerlan Kiyasov stated.

"To strengthen border control and prevent the spread of infection, Interdepartmental commission on preventing the emergence and spread of coronavirus infection has been increased measures on reducing the air traffic with Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, Germany and Belarus," the vice minister said. The commission  also encourages to proceed PCR testing of drivers, carrying out international cargo transportation, in case of certificate absence at the border and without being placed in a quarantine hospital. If a positive result is detected according to personal data, a person must be quarantined at the location.
