Thailand offers a special visa for Kazakhstan tourists

Kazakhstan citizens can obtain a new type of document called "special tourist visa" for entering Thailand.  Residents of countries with a low risk of COVID-19 infection can apply for visas, Action Global Communications Kazakhstan reported.

Visa validity period is 90 days, it can be extended twice, thus a person is able to stay in Thailand up to 270 days. As the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Nur-Sultan specified, the STV visa will be issued from October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021. The list of eligible countries is revised on 15th and 30th of each month. Reportedly, tourists need to obtain another document - a certificate of entry, an application can be submitted to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Nur-Sultan.

To date, following tourist groups are allowed to enter into Thailand:

- Thai Elite Card holders

- holders of a nonimmigrant long-term visa category O-A. This type of visa can be issued to applicants aged 50 and over who wish to stay in Thailand for 1 year without intending to work

- owners of STV.

At the same time, the first 14 days of staying in Thailand, tourists are required to be quarantined in one of the hotels from the allowed list. It is important to underline that direct flights to Thailand from Kazakhstan are not allowed, but it's able to get there via Dubai.
