Shymkent airport will be transferred in trust

Shymkent airport will be transferred in trust for 10 years with the right to buy. Tenders will be issued on October 8, 2020. The starting price is 5.2 billion tenge. In order to participate in the bidding, it is necessary to pay a guarantee deposit in the amount of 785.1 million tenge, according to the business information center Kapital.kz.

“The one who receives the facility in trust will be obliged to maintain the airport activity during the trust period. At the time, it will be necessary to invest in the object at least 6 billion tenge and engage resources  to the airport infrastructure. The buyer will be obliged to upgrade a facility in accordance with contemporary standards in civil aviation: reconstruct the passenger terminal, update the special technique and equipment. In addition, during the period, it is necessary to preserve existing workplaces and create at least five workplaces,” referred to in requirements.

According to evaluation report, the airport's net revenue was 83 million tenge in 2017, in 2018 - 108 million tenge, in 2019 - 95.1 million tenge. The winner will also be obliged to ensure the break-even operation of the airport and increase its net profit annually. From 2021, the airport's net profit should be at least 150 million tenge. Reportedly, Shymkent International Airport was founded in March 1932.
