Etihad Airways has purchased a large consignment of electronic bracelets for passengers to comply with Abu Dhabi's quarantine regulations. Bracelets will be distributed at the airport upon arrival. Etihad Airways has announced recently that all passengers arriving in Abu Dhabi will be required to wear electronic bracelets, monitoring a compliance with strict quarantine requirements.

As it became known, regardless of the final destination, the airline requires passengers to confirm a negative COVID-19 test before boarding, made within the last 96 hours. At the same time, Etihad Airways provides each passenger with free medical insurance in case of coronavirus disease.

UAE is not the only one which has introduced the use of electronic monitoring devices to ensure compliance with mandatory quarantine. In mid-August, Singapore has begun producing Bluetooth and GPS-enabled devices, requiring all overseas travelers to activate their monitors and respond to any messages and notifications sent by the government. If the user tries to leave his quarantine location or interfere with the device operation, authorities will immediately receive a notification and the violator will be severely punished in this case.
