Airports of the USA terminate the enhanced screening for COVID-19 for passengers arriving from abroad, Tengritravel.kz reported with reference to Conde Nast Traveler. According to American experts, health screening of arriving passengers has not been proven as effective. From September 14, it was decided to abandon the enhanced screening for coronavirus at airports.
Since January 2020, passengers from high-risk states have only been able to enter the United States through 15 designated airports. According to US Transportation Security Administration data, 675,000 passengers were screened at airports and under 15 passengers (0.002 percent) were infected with the virus. In their opinion, this check has failed as it “caught the air”, spending money, time and labor of specialists.
From September 14, passengers will no have longer to fly through certain airports for COVID-19 screening. In August, the US Disease Control and Prevention Center has canceled a recommendation for travelers to hold a quarantine for 14 days. That being said, some states still require two weeks of isolation for domestic trips.
