Full recovery of passenger traffic to 2019 level is now expected by 2024. This forecast was given by experts, according to Tengritravel.kz with reference to Traveldailynews.com.
Airports Council International of Europe (ACI Europe) has reported the passenger traffic via European airport network in June has decreased by 93 percent compared to the same period last year. There is a slight improvement over the previous month (May 2020, 98 percent difference). European airports served only 16.8 million passengers in June, the same month last year - there were 240 million passengers.
The situation was improved compared to the previous month by the gradual lifting of travel restrictions within the European Union and the Schengen area. At the same time, there is still a travel ban in most other countries. Therefore, European airport network has almost tripled the passenger traffic daily - from 267,000 passengers on June 1 to 757,000 passengers on June 30. However, these indicators are still very far from last year's average of 8 million people in the same month.
