The American company will present a new generation supersonic aircraft

On October 7, the American company Boom Supersonic will present  its unique development to the public- a new generation supersonic aircraft. The prototype has already received the XB-1 name and this small vehicle, able to accommodate one person - the pilot, according to  Simple Flying edition.

The XB-1 is estimated at $ 141 million. Reportedly, the aircraft demonstration will be in the fall, flight tests will begin in 2021. Then Boom Supersonic intends to construct a more spacious aircraft according to the XB-1 drawings. The next supersonic novelty will be called Boom Overture. It will be an aircraft with a capacity of 55 passenger seats and capable of covering a distance of 8300 km. The American company management plans to sell these aircrafts directly to airlines (it is already known that Japan Airlines is interested), the cost of aircraft will be about $ 200 million.

A price for a flight - 5 thousand dollars. Interestingly, the Boom Supersonic company was founded only in 2014, and in six years has been managed to create a prototype of a supersonic aircraft. This is significantly faster compared to another Concorde supersonic vehicle, which was previously produced in Europe.
