IATA informed what scares passengers during flights amid COVID-19

On July 13, IATA has released the research findings, containing basic fears of passengers amid the coronavirus pandemic. The largest number of respondents told they are afraid of being infected in the cabin, according to Tickets Aero portal.

According to the results obtained, 59% of the passengers surveyed are concerned about the transfer, 42% are worried about safety during check-in and border control, 38% are not sure about sufficient disinfection of toilet rooms at the airport facility. About 65% of respondents are afraid of getting a seat next to an infected neighbor, 37% doubt the sufficient efficiency of air filtration systems on board. Therefore, passengers were asked to mention the most effective measures for combating COVID-19. Among the most popular responses were: (37%) - checking for coronavirus at airports, (34%) - mandatory wearing of face masks, (33% ) - social distancing on aircrafts.

Besides, 58% of respondents told they were avoiding a travel during strict restrictions and quarantine measures, and 33% believe they won't  use airline services in the near future. “People are clearly concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic while traveling, but at the same time they are ready to comply with the necessary safety measures in such a way as to prevent the spread of the virus,” said Alexandre de Junyac, IATA CEO.
