Qatar Airways has introduced additional protections for passengers

From July 3, Qatar Airways has introduced new safety rules on board under the coronavirus pandemic conditions. All passengers and crew will be provided with protective plastic face covers which are required to use throughout the flight, according to the publication Simple Flying.

The protective cover is a transparent plastic sheet, covering the entire person’s head to the neck. As the airline noted, even a slight cough can lead to the spread of particles invisible to the naked eye over a considerable distance. According to new rules, economy class passengers have to use face covers throughout the flight, except for eating. Business travelers do not need to use face masks throughout the flight, as they might have a personal space on board, but are required to use covers during boarding and after landing.

As it became known, Qatar Airways would provide absolutely all passengers with a set of personal protective equipment before boarding. It will include gloves, a face mask, a hand sanitizer and a plastic cover in two sizes (for an adult and for a child). It should be noted, amid the pandemic, Qatar Airways has developed the most flexible tariff policy and allowed passengers to change departure dates and routes without restrictions.
