Final Gulfstream G550 was sold

According to the ATO portal, Gulfstream Aerospace, enterprise-class aircraft manufacturer, has announced the sale of the latest Gulfstream G550 business jet and terminating operations of this model, which has become an icon of the large-cabin class with ultra-long range. The final commercial G550 aircraft will be transferred to a customer in 2021.

Since being certified by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and putting into operation in 2003, the American air manufacturer has delivered more than 600 G550 aircrafts (also known as the GV-SP) of a value $ 54.5 million. The model was announced in 2000, and it has become the first platform for the Gulfstream PlaneView complex with flight information visualization functionality. In 2003, the aircraft received the prestigious Robert J. Collier Trophy Award, awarded for "the greatest achievements in the field of US aeronautics."

Gulfstream has assured multiple operators that it will continue producing and supply spare parts for the G550 and support operators via network of 30 service centers located worldwide. The G5stream was succeeded by a Gulfstream G600 of a value $ 58.5 million. The model was presented in 2014 and received a certificate in June 2019, the first delivery took place in August of the same year.
