Wizz Air has announced plans for the coming year. The Hungarian low-cost airline is confident in the chosen anti-crisis strategy, therefore, it intends to return to full power and restore an optimal passenger flow within twelve months, according to Simple Flying.
Wizz Air, along with other airlines, has suffered significant losses regarding the coronavirus pandemic. However, against the background of competitors, the airline is quite confident - the carrier has managed to keep a high level of ticket sales, and also launch new routes. In addition, Wizz Air continues preparing for the base opening in Abu Dhabi, which would allow the company to cover Middle Eastern destinations. According to Jozsef Waradi, Wizz Air CEO, the company has chosen the right strategy to get ahead of other major players in the aviation industry and achieve anti-crisis indicators as soon as possible.
At the moment, the low-cost airline is concentrated on short-haul flights: short flights would enable the Hungarian carrier to make a high demand, in doing so, to maintain affordable fares. At the same time, despite the confidence of Wizz Air, IATA does not foresee passenger demand until 2024.
