The International Air Traffic Controller Professional Skills Competition was held in Almaty. It was organized by “Kazaeronavigatsia” RSE with the support of the Civil Aviation Academy.

The competition was attended by representatives of leading aeronautical organizations from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan—the best specialists in their fields, demonstrating a high level of training and professional skills.

This is the first competition of this scale over the past seven years: the previous international competition was held in 2018 in St. Petersburg. This year's event has become a significant event for the entire Eurasian aviation industry, bringing together specialists and experts in air traffic management.

The competition included four rounds:

• doing homework on current air navigation topics;

• testing theoretical knowledge and proficiency in English;

• practical work on an air traffic control simulator;

• as well as tasks testing stress tolerance and decision-making in non-standard situations.

Mr. Timur Navruzov, the representative of the team from the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted that the competition became not only a contest but also an effective platform for exchanging experiences between countries.

“The air navigation industry is developing rapidly: digital technologies and artificial intelligence are being introduced, and the airspace structure is being improved.

Such events help specialists exchange knowledge and improve their skills, which directly impacts safety,” - he emphasized.

According to the organizers, the competition demonstrated the high level of professional training of air traffic controllers in Eurasian countries and confirmed Kazakhstan's leading role in the development of civil aviation.

“Kazaeronavigatsia” RSE plans to continue holding similar events aimed at improving the qualifications of specialists and strengthening international cooperation in the field of air navigation.
