Air Astana became the winner of the MRO Russia & CIS Award in the category “For Achievements in aircraft maintenance organization in Central Asia”. The award ceremony was held on March 10 within the 15th international exhibition and conference of the MRO Russia & CIS “The Present and Future of Aircraft Maintenance” at the World Trade Center, Moscow, according to the press service of the airline.

“We are particularly honoured to receive this award. It demonstrates a high appreciation of our work in maintenance, and we are grateful that our efforts have been noted,”said Keith Wardle, Vice President Engineering & Maintenance, Air Astana. “Our primary task is to improve the technical base and expand our experience, while achieving the financial and quality advantages.”

Last year, Air Astana has received the EASA certificate for periodic maintenance, which allows to perform C-check of Airbus A319 / 320/321 aircrafts. Previously, the airline has implemented only aerospace services to its fleet and aircrafts of other airlines. In November 2019, Air Astana operated the first C-check of an Airbus A320neo aircraft at its own Engineering and Technical center, Almaty. Nowadays, the carrier is working to improve the technical base for complex forms of maintenance at the Aviation Technical Center, Nur Sultan.

The MRO Russia & CIS annual professional award in aircraft maintenance was established in 2006 by the magazine "Air Transport Review". Current year, the exhibition brought together over 90 exhibiting companies from more than 30 countries worldwide.
