MIAT Mongolian Airlines, the national carrier of Mongolia (state-owned) will utilize the Market Intelligence Global Demand Data system from Sabre, an American IT company for commercial planning and development of passenger transportation. On February 18, the signing of the relevant agreement was announced.
According to Sabre, in 2020, Mongolia intends to attract 1 million foreign tourists and earn $ 1 billion on tourism. Under this strategy, MIAT is planning to increase its fleet and the number of flight destinations, which should be facilitated by an introduction of modern IT technologies.
Sabre Global Demand Data is a topical and detailed database on passenger traffic worldwide, covering government and industry data sources, as well as GDS information (Global Distribution Systems). Using this data, airlines might develop new routes and revenue generation strategies on current operating markets, as well as to discover opportunities for development.
