On February 13, Airbus has announced the successful certification of the Airbus A330-800neo. The aircraft has received all the necessary documentation from European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and from Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), according to Simple Flying.
Reportedly, the Airbus A330-800neo has been awaiting the certification since mid-2019. Deadlines were constantly postponed, and for some time the aviation market was wondering if this type could be certified at all. By last autumn, the concern had an order for 10 aircrafts, so it has been suggested that this model would be completely stopped. However, everything ended differently.
Today, the Airbus A330-800neo has received certificates and is ready to operate. The three-class cabin configuration assumes a capacity of 220 to 260 passengers, but if the board will be equipped by single economy class, then aircraft will be able to carry on around 400 passengers. At the moment, an order to purchase Airbus A330-800 has been received from Kuwait Airways (8 aircrafts), Uganda (2 aircrafts). Another 4 aircrafts will be delivered to the “undisclosed customer”.
