During the previous year, Kazakhstan aviators have demonstrated the high performance results, which are expressed in an unprecedented growth in passenger traffic - 7.1 million people were transported by Kazakhstan airlines for 10 months of 2019, which is 6% more than the same period in 2018 (6.7 million people ), according to Kapital.kz portal.

Today, according to ICAO standards in terms of flight safety, Kazakhstan takes the third place among the CIS countries with an indicator of 74%, the level of aviation safety is 83%, which is 21% better than the 2009 audit indicator. The improved indicator in Kazakhstan exceeds by 11% a value of the world average of 72%. On September 24, 2019, Kazakhstan's achievements in aviation safety were awarded by the ICAO Council.

Within the “open skies” mode, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the opening of new international routes and attracting new foreign airlines, it was possible to operate regular flights at 11 Kazakhstan airports without frequency restrictions and a possibility of using the fifth degree of air freedom. In order to stimulate a domestic tourism, measures are being taken to develop small aircraft. In the next 5 years, it is planned to construct another 13 aerodromes of local airlines.
