Hahn Air has start selling tickets, using the blockchain

Hahn Air Airlines began using the blockchain technology to sell tickets, according to ZDNet. It is reported, that such a service in the aviation services market is being implemented for the first time. Hahn Air Airlines has concluded a partnership agreement with the Winding Tree platform, which allows the carrier, using the blockchain technology to check-in passengers, manage a booking and accept payments.

Reportedly, payment methods such as cash, credit card, or cryptocurrency are accepted. According to Jorg Troester, Head of Corporate Strategy Department at Hahn Air, the blockchain technology allows to explore new opportunities to improve the air travel quality. One of the main blockchain advantages is that all market participants, such as airlines, travel agencies and hotel booking systems, are able to connect and exchange transactions without intermediaries. This will be beneficial for ordinary travelers - they would benefit from reduced costs and increased travel options due to such a platform.

“The technology is 100% protected. All necessary information is stored in a decentralized ledger, which is verified by millions of sources and therefore cannot be changed or tampered with. We need to conduct further platform testing and following the blockchain development, whereupon we expect to offer this option to our partner airlines,”Troester said.
