Beluga XL, manufactured by Airbus, was certified by EASA

The European Air Safety Agency (EASA) has certified Beluga XL, the specialized cargo aircraft of increased capacity, manufactured by Airbus, according to Ato.ru.

Beluga XL was created on the basis of the A330-200 wide-body aircraft to provide transportations mainly under the A350 program. The aircraft is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines.

The aircraft is able to operate up to 4,000 km under a full load. It is designed to transfer a cargo weighing up to 51 tons. The length of the transporter is 63.1 m, the wingspan is 60.3 m, the height is 18.9 m at maximum take-off weight of 227 tons.
