From November 19 to 20, 2019, the second annual IATA conference “Wings of Change Europe” had been held in Berlin (Germany). The session was attended by the major air carriers, representatives of state aviation authorities of Europe and the CIS countries. The conference is the basic aviation event in Europe, whereby the ministers of transport and infrastructure, representatives of the European Union, executive directors and experts from various areas of the aviation industry had participated in discussions and debate regarding the present and future of the air transport.

The main topics in the conference agenda: sustainable development, flight safety and aviation security, competitiveness, innovation and human assets.

The IATA chief economist has announced the predicted world-wide increase the number of passengers carried over the next 20 years at twice. In an interview, airline's first persons (Bjorn Kjos - President and founder of Norwegian Air Shuttle, Oana Petrescu - Director General of Blue Air, Benjamin Smith - CEO of Air France - KLM, Carsten Spohr - Chairman of the Board, CEO of Lufthansa Group) were talking about methods and work possibilities in the aviation industry.

The main topics and industry trends, issued at the conference:

- sustainable growth: what strategy and actions need to be taken by civil aviation and government regulators;

- what is the role of Europe in the global and changing global economy;

- new EU vision on sustainability of the transport industry;

- cybersecurity;

- wide-body electric aircrafts;

- informatization and innovations in cargo transportations.

Additionally, airlines representatives and the IATA leadership have signed an agreement on the commitment the gender balance “25 by 2025” in a solemn ceremony.
