British Airways has introduced the first automated trolleys at London Heathrow Airport. These trolleys are designed for carrying a luggage and service departing flights, according to Simple Flying.
Reportedly, the new luggage trolleys are designed to reduce check-in delays by optimizing the baggage check-in process. Every day, British Airways carries around 75,000 bags at London Airport. The carrier is based at terminal 5, but also operates several flights from other harbor terminals. Thus, all baggage coordination creates some logistical problems. For this purpose, British Airways decided to use automated vehicles.
As has became known, each bag, packaged in luggage and which received a special tag, will be loaded into an automated trolley. In process of completion, it will be sent directly to the aircraft, for which a baggage is intended. All trolleys have an airport map. Using artificial intelligence, these vehicles determine which route will be the fastest and deliver bags to the aircraft for the shortest time. Since British Airways cares about the environment and always strives to reduce the harm caused by air travel, automated trolleys are also absolutely safety and do not pollute the environment with harmful emissions.
