On September 25, the largest international airport in the world has opened in China. The Beijing air harbor “Daxing” was put into operation five days ahead of schedule, according to RIA News. The opening ceremony was attended by Xi Jinping, President of PRC. He has launched the air terminal operation.
SkyTeam Alliance airlines will be serviced at the new airport. The main tenant of the air harbor will be the Chinese carrier China Southern. For its unusual design and architectural shape, the terminal has already been nicknamed the "starfish". The building area is more than 700 thousand square meters. The project has become the most expensive in the history of Chinese aviation - the investments volume for the entire construction period about 11.7 billion dollars. When the airport starts operating at full power, it will be able to serve more than 100 million passengers annually.
The leadership of Daxing promised that only high-tech services will be provided in the air harbor. Soon, there would even appear robots serving customers - they will move in terminals for informing passengers of an updated information about departing and arriving flights.
