Turkish airlines flights will be accompanied by plain-clothes police

From October 1, 2019, all Turkish airlines flights will be accompanied by plain-clothes police,accoding to “RIA News” with reference to a representative of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs.

They will oversee the safety on board and prevent any interference with aircraft control.

“Air policemen” might only be those, who has been working in law enforcement more than five years. They should look like ordinary passengers - the employees identities will kept in secret. Police officers will not be associated with the aircraft crew. Tickets for law enforcement officers will be provided by airlines, and for weapons and ammunition will be issued special permits.

This is stated in the relevant disposal, governing the appointment and requirements for the "air police" published at the official publication Resmi Gazete.
