"Ukraine International Airlines" will leave Kazakhstan

Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) was forced to refuse due to flight unprofitability from Kiev to Almaty, caused by need to fly around Russia, according to "Country”.

The ban on using of Russia airspace has led to the fact, that the Kiev-Almaty flight duration has increased from 5 hours 20 minutes to 6 hours 35 minutes, and the flight profitability became negative. According to UIA President Evgeniy Dykhne, the company's losses on this flight have amounted more than seven million dollars.

This is the second flight to Kazakhstan, which is canceled by the Ukrainian carrier due to the need to fly around Russia. In December 2018, flights were discontinued to the country's capital - Nur Sultan.
