Air Astana has announced the transfer of Moscow flights to Domodedovo Airport (Terminal 1) from October 27, 2019. Flights will be transferred without interruptions in the schedule, the carrier reported.
Airport change concerns flights from Nur-Sultan (11 weekly flights in winter) and from Almaty (14 weekly flights in winter). From October 27, 2019, Air Astana’s booking system has already been updated to these changes for operating flights.
Change of base airport in the capital of Russia is primarily associated with the signing of a code sharing agreement with S7 airline, for which Domodedovo Airport is one of the basic air transport hubs.
In 2018, Moscow Domodedovo Airport, located south of the city, has served 29.4 million passengers. This is the basis airport for the largest airlines, OneWorld and Star Alliance global alliances members, which includes 50 carriers, flying to 202 destinations.
The airport’s concept “under one roof” means that international and domestic flights are served in the unique terminal. This increases airport capacity, saving time and providing convenience for transit passengers.
