FlyArystan has announced the base opening at the Karaganda airport

Since the second quarter of 2020, the airline plans to expand a route network from Karaganda. Sary-Arka Airport will be the first regional FlyArystan base.
Today, all FlyArystan flights are operated from one base in Almaty; Karaganda will become the first regional city, having its own representative office, according to FlyArystan press service.
The regional base’s opening is scheduled for the second quarter of 2020. For the first time, one Airbus A320 will be based there, later another aircraft will be added. After the base opening in Karaganda, they would announce the recruitment of pilots, flight attendants, engineers and ground handling personnel. This is 100-120 work places.
Ibrahim Zhanlyel, Air Astana Executive Finance Director, believes that a base in one of the largest cities of Kazakhstan would develop the region.
He said, since FlyArystan inception, in three months, passenger traffic at the Sary-Arka airport has increased by 49% compared to the same period previous year. The low-cost airline carried out more than 200 flights Almaty - Karaganda - Almaty, while the average load was 93%. About half of tickets were sold for minimum rates, costing up to 10 thousand tenge.
He clarified, other regions will follow the Karaganda example, collaborating with FlyArystan.
Sarsenbek Kushkinov, Chairman of “Sary-Arka Airport” JSC (Karaganda Airport), said that Karaganda has unique weather conditions in terms of visibility and other important flight parameters in all seasons. Besides, he noted that the airport has necessary infrastructure for a comfortable stay and service, with a predicted double increase in passenger traffic next year.
In April current year, the FlyArystan press service has announced that the airline is searching for a base. The competition was announced among 18 airports of Kazakhstan cities and towns.
