On July 18, 03.00 UTC, the azimuthal and rangefinding radio beacon DVOR-432 / DME-435 were put into the operation Aktau aerodrome.
DVOR ,the omnidirectional azimuthal VHF radio beacon and DME, rangefinder equipment, are radionavigation facility, recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as an international navigation system for controlling aircrafts when flying short and medium distances.
DVOR / DME beacons are installed at aerodromes and routes for issuing navigation information to civil aviation crews, providing flights on the routes, in the aerodrome area and for landing.
The DVOR432, VHF omnidirectional azimuth radio beacon and DME 435, rangefinder equipment were installed at the Aktau aerodrome for replacing the exhausted VOR System 4000 / DME FSD-45equipment , which had been commissioned in 1996.
The DVOR radio beacon provides a more accurate azimuth determination on the aircraft board compared to the VOR radio beacon. In addition, DVOR is not affected by local objects located in close proximity to the beacon, which ensures high reliability and stability of equipment parameters.
In connection with new installation DVOR 432 / DME 435 equipment, the safety and regularity of flights are increased at the Aktau airport.
