IrMa Air Service, the new Kazakhstan company, which provides services in the air cargo operations, in mid-July began operating flights on the IL-18 turboprop aircraft. This aircraft is registered under the flag of private airline East Wing. While this air carrier focuses on air ambulance services, IrMa Air Service, having commercial rights to the aircraft, is delivering cargo goods, primarily, chilled meat, under chartering agreement to Iran.
According to IrMa Air Service, the calendar period of using this aircraft has been extended to fifty years, and in the future, the company expects an extension for another five years. The company stated, although the first flight within the chartering agreement was operated recently (July 17, 2019), the shipper has already lacked a production capacity and it intends to increase the aircraft fleet over time, including through the IL-18.
“The interest to current aircrafts is caused by low kerosene consumption. Besides, due to the hermetic and capacious cargo compartment, keeping the temperature, we would not worry about safety of perishable products,” said Marina Zhapabayeva, CEO of IrMa Air Service.
