New flights will be opened from Nur-Sultan to Shanghai and Urumqi

The Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan and Nur-Sultan Akimat signed memorandums of understanding with China Eastern Airlines, one of the China’s largest airlines, as well as with Urumqi Airlines, Chinese low-cost airline. Documents were signed at the Routes Silk Road – 2019, an international forum of airlines and airports, according to the press service of the Civil Aviation Committee.

Memorandums provide for the possibility of opening direct flights from China points to Nur-Sultan. Particularly, in the first quarter of 2020, it is planned to open Nur-Sultan-Shanghai flight. Kazakh airlines also plan to operate flights on this route.

“The Civil Aviation Committee, within the Routes Silk Road – 2019 forum, will continue an active work on opening new international air routes, which in turn will contribute to further development of Nur-Sultan as a transport and logistics hub in the center of Eurasia,” according to CAC message.
