S7 Airlines, a Russian airline, has begun testing face recognition systems at Moscow Domodedovo airport, according to portal Ato.ru. Based on the trained neural networks, the program identifies a passenger, which makes it possible to personalize automatically services, and also allows passengers to forget about their boarding pass, entering the waiting room.
“Testing this system is only the first step in using face recognition. Over time, our passengers will be able to go from entering the airport building to boarding an aircraft without ever getting a boarding pass. This requires collaboration with our partners from airports and aviation authorities, but in terms of technology, this is already a real future, ”said Pavel Voronin, Deputy Director General for Information Technologies at S7 Group.
