Muscat Declaration signed during ICAO Week

From December 9 to 13, Muscat, Oman hosted an international conference on aviation security and cybersecurity. It was timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Annex 17 "Aviation Security" and the 80th anniversary of the Chicago Convention of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The conference, organized in partnership with ICAO and the national authorities of the Sultanate of Oman, was attended by representatives of 78 countries and more than 800 experts. The Kazakhstan delegation, which included experts in aviation security and cybersecurity from "Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan" JSC, "Kazaeronavigatsia" RSE, Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport, was headed by Deputy Director General of "Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan" JSC Darkhan Yespotanov.
The forum included conferences and seminars to discuss innovative approaches to risk management and the introduction of new technologies in aviation security, round tables devoted to cooperation between states in the fight against new threats in civil aviation.
Also, the forum included working meetings with the ICAO leadership, with representatives of the air navigation services of the Gulf countries on current issues of aviation security and cybersecurity, taking into account possible threats in the region.
The conference resulted in the signing by the ICAO member states of the Muscat Declaration on Aviation Security and Aviation Cybersecurity. The strategic document is aimed at strengthening international cooperation and implementing best practices in the field of aviation security.
