Effective air navigation cooperation between Kazakhstan and China

In the People's Republic of China, the China-Kazakhstan CNS/ATM Coordination Meeting 2024 working meetings were held in the cities of Urumqi and Beijing. As part of the negotiations, representatives of the air navigation of Kazakhstan and China signed an agreement on coordination procedures between the regional control centers of Almaty and Urumqi, aimed at standardizing processes and improving air traffic safety, and a protocol of the first meeting between the central offices of the “Kazaeronavigatsia” RSE and ATMB CAAC. The latest document defines the main areas of cooperation in air traffic management, airspace management, flow management, development of communication systems, navigation and surveillance, meteorological support, as well as professional training.

During the meeting, the Kazakh side proposed developing four new routes and corridors to connect with Chinese airspace. Colleagues from China assured that they would conduct the necessary research and provide their recommendations on this proposal.

In addition, as part of the working meeting, the delegation of the “Kazaeronavigatsia”RSE visited the new regional dispatch center, an air traffic service tower and a professional training center.

The agreements reached are confirmation of effective air navigation cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, and will help improve flight safety, introduce new technologies and improve the training of specialists, experts from Kazaeronavigation shared.
