ICAO and IATA have presented a new guide on combating aviation bullies

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) have published a new legal guide on combating aviation bullies on the board, according to ato.ru.
The new ICAO Guide (Doc 10117) on countering of bullies activities on board is the result of the adoption of an amending protocol into the Convention on Crimes and Certain Other Illegal Acts, committed on Board Aircrafts (2014 Montreal Protocol).
It should be noted, the amount of incidents related to inappropriate behavior of passengers on the board has increased dramatically in recent years. The main reason for riots – an alcohol intoxication. As a preventive measure, several airlines have appealed airports to limit the amount of alcohol available to a passenger.
"Safety enhancement is a common goal of governments and airlines.Containment of unmanaged behavior on flights is the key for solving this problem," added Alexander de Jun yak, chief of IATA.
The International Air Transport Association has noted that the new ICAO Guide is intended to assist governments in combating aviation bullies in accordance with their national legislation and covers practical measures to prevent such incidents and their solution. This includes a possibility to fine such passengers at the scene of the alleged offense.
