In 2021, Gogo, an American provider of mobile communications for aviation, plans to provide access to 5G generation broadband Internet, according to ATO.ru portal
The new network will use a special modem and advanced radiation technology for focusing the power of wireless signal. At the same time, Gogo plans to continue using 3G and 4G networks for data backup.
The company claims that ground-based network technologies have advantages over satellite communications, because they provide significant savings in operation and less delay in data transmission.
Providing passengers with access to the Network during the flight has long been a competitive advantage in civil aviation. In 2018, Wireless Internet was equipped with 43% of the available capacity of 82 airlines.
