The name of the joint venture Boeing and Embraer will not appear on the name of the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer, according to the site Ato.ru. The American company, which in January 2019 has acquired 80% of the Embraer commercial passenger aircraft division, announced that the new joint venture will be called Boeing Brasil - Commercial.
For the first time, plans to acquire the Embraer passenger division were announced at the Farnborough air show last July. The Boeing’s purchase cost 4.2 billion dollars.
The deal with Embraer became for Boeing a response for strengthening of its main competitor – Airbus, the European company. The latest, in July 2018, completed the deal of the CSeries narrow-body aircraft program from the Canadian company Bombardier. The European aircraft manufacturer also re-branded, giving the Airbus A220 name to these aircrafts.
