In June 2019, a new flight will be launched by the new flight message Nur-Sultan - Ulan Bator, according to SCAT. Flights will be operated every Wednesday and Sunday. Boeing will transport passengers.

"The start of flights is June 2019. Every Wednesday and Sunday at Boeing 737. Travel time is 3 hours and 20 minutes. Convenient connections from Almaty, Shymkent, Taraz, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Aktau and Pavlodar," according to the SCAT statement.

Kalybek Koblandin, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Mongolia, informed that the direct flight opens on June 3. "This issue was discussed by the parties more than once, and the process of its approval took a long time," he noted.

The “Nur-Sultan - Ulan-Bator flight”, as the CCA has repeatedly referred, will become very popular, as it will be a transit message for connecting with Western Europe.

Air Astana planned to start direct flights to Mongolia on June 2, 2016. However, a month before launch, the Kazakh carrier announced that it had to cancel flights between the Kazakhstan and Mongolia capitals due to the unreasonable withdrawal of the permission by the aviation authorities of Mongolia.
