New supersonic aircraft will fly from London to New York in just half an hour

A supersonic aircraft that can cover the distance between London and New York in just half an hour, it will appear in the coming years, according to the Sun.

Aerospace company Hermeus will develop supersonic commercial aircrafts, whose speed exceeds the speed of sound more than five times. The company has already resolved the issue of financing this project for 10 years. As developers noted, such aircrafts will be able to fly at a speed of more than 4,800 km / h over a distance of about 7,500 kilometers. Such characteristics, for example, will allow to deliver passengers from London to New York in 1.5 hours. This is twice as fast, as the supersonic Concorde passenger aircraft can overcome this route in 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Today, the usual Boeing or Airbus fly over the ocean on average for seven hours. According to experts, existing technologies will use for creating a new aircraft, and it will be built mainly of titanium. They promise to present the demo version of an innovative supersonic vessel in 5 years. Hermeus CEO Ai Piplika said that their ‘child’ would revolutionize the global transport infrastructure and will have great social and economic impact.
