Turkestan plans to begin construction of a new airport. This was reported by the Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC "Kazakh Invest" Saparbek Tuyakbayev, reports MIA "Kazinform".

"In the city of Turkestan, with the participation of Turkish investors, it is planned to start the construction of a new airport. As part of today's event, we intend to sign an agreement with the investor. After the end of the forum, we are going to visit Turkestan together. During the visit, we plan to solve all issues related to the akimat. Construction will begin this year," Saparbek Tuyakbayev said at a briefing at the AEF round table on global investments.

"If we compare with the last three years, we can see that the number of investments in Kazakhstan is growing. If earlier investments were mainly in the oil and gas industry, last year only 45% of investments were directed to the oil and gas sector, the rest - in the sphere of transport infrastructure, communications, industry, etc.", Saparbek Tuyakbayev added.
