The Republic of Kazakhstan is officially represented in ICAO

Mr. Timur Tlegenov, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), presented the credentials to Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar, the ICAO Secretary General at the ICAO headquarters in Montreal.
During the conversation, topical issues of developing cooperation in the field of civil aviation were discussed.
The Secretary General conveyed his gratitude to Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the decision to open the Permanent Representation of Kazakhstan to ICAO and congratulated the Permanent Representative on taking office. Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar expressed confidence that the activities of our country’s mission to ICAO will contribute to further strengthening the interaction between Kazakhstan and ICAO.
Also, the Secretary General highly appreciated the achievements and role of Kazakhstan in the international arena and noted the authority of the state that maintains good relations with all countries of the world and international organizations.
“ICAO highly appreciates and sets as an example the reforms carried out by the Kazakhstan side to improve the level of safety and aviation security, and in general, the development of accessibility of air transport,” Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar emphasized.
The Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan conveyed greetings from the leadership of the Republic of Kazakhstan and expressed support for ICAO’s activities in developing multifaceted interaction with the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of civil aviation.
“The Republic of Kazakhstan is an active participant in ICAO, and is convinced that the opening of a Permanent Representation for the first time in the history of our country will contribute to the further consistent implementation by Kazakhstan of high standards of safety and aviation security,” noted Mr. Timur Tlegenov and spoke about the current state of the civil aviation industry in Kazakhstan, the country's key priorities and tasks in this area.
It should be noted that for the first time, an official representative was appointed by decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization - a specialized UN agency that establishes international standards for civil aviation and coordinates its development in order to improve safety and efficiency). This event was preceded by a lot of work by the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In conclusion, the parties confirmed the commitment and importance of further expanding the practical dialogue between Kazakhstan and ICAO.
