On July 11, a new route T916 was opened, which passes through the airspace of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. It is one of the additional routes for flights from Europe to Southeast Asia, reports the press service of “Kazaeronavigatsia” RSE of CAC of Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The route has so for now 19 flights from Europe to Southeast Asia since its opening, but is likely to see heavy use towards the end of the summer season as users take some time to get used to the new route.
The new route has already been used by such airlines as Lufthansa Cargo (Germany), Cargolux (Luxemburg), Cargolux Italy (Italy), Nomad aviation (Switzerland), Western Global Airlines (USA), Aerologic Cargo Airlines (Germany). The total length of the T916 route is 2187 km. Of these, 437 km of aircraft use the airspace of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the remaining 1750 km fly over the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It is worth noting that the new air traffic service route T916 was opened at the suggestion of airlines and the air navigation service provider of the Republic of Uzbekistan, State Unitary Enterprise “Uzaeronavigatsia”. This route was previously included in the ICAO preferred route catalogue.
The route is currently one-way. According to specialists from “Kazaeronavigatsia” RSE, the new air corridor will increase the attractiveness of the Kazakhstani sky for foreign airlines, and will also help reduce the load on air traffic controllers of the South Kazakhstan Regional Center of Air Traffic Service.
