Growth in global passenger air traffic in March slowed to 3.1% in annual terms after rising 5.3% in February, and this is the lowest rate at the last nine years, the Vesti.Economics website informs, according to IATA.
“Although growth has slowed significantly in March, we do not think that last month’s rate defines the trend for the whole 2019,” Alexander de Junyak, IATA Director General told at the release.
According to IATA in the regional context, the highest growth rate was observed in Latin America - by 5.6%, in Europe - by 4.9% and in North America - also by 4.9%. In the Asia-Pacific region (APR) growth was 1.9%, in Africa - 2.6%, meanwhile in the Middle East the indicator fell - by 3%.
