On June 21, a workshop entitled “Methodology of competency-based training: requirements, realities and prospects” was held for the first time within the walls of the Professional Training Center of the “Kazaeronavigatsia” RSE.

To discuss the problems of implementing the requirements for the methodology of competency-based training of aviation personnel, as well as possible prospects for cooperation between the ATCs, the heads of aviation training centers, developers of training programs, instructors, airlines, including representatives of the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, gathered.

The Director of the Licensing Department of “Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan” JSC Adilzhan Sultanov noted the importance of discussing this issue and exchanging experience in the implementation of the methodology of competency-based training, since there are still various approaches to the application of this methodology in the development and implementation of training courses.

The workshop was divided into two sessions. In the first, specialists from the Professional Training Center of the “Kazaeronavigatsia” RSE answered current questions regarding the methodology of competency-based training. The second session discussed the problems that hinder the implementation of the methodology. As a result, the participants developed a strategy covering the following areas: "Training of ATC personnel" and "Development of programs". This approach will be implemented by a working group, which includes representatives of training centers and the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan.

It should be noting that the workshop was attended by representatives of "Kazaeronavigatsia" RSE, "Academy of Civil Aviation JSC", "Air Astana", JSC "Qazaq Air", JSC "SCAT", JSC "Almaty International Airport", "Aviator.KZ" ATC, "Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering" LLP, "Balapan" training center, "Kazaviaspas".

In conclusion, Talgat Mukanov thanked all the participants of the seminar for their well-coordinated work, and together with the moderator of the seminar Yana Vishnevskaya, presented certificates.
