Connecting Europe and Asia: the fifth Central Asian Aviation Summit was held in Astana

On April 11, the fifth anniversary of the Central Asia Aviation Summit (CAAS) took place in Astana. The main topics of the event were the introduction of advanced technologies at airports, as well as the development of skills and professional competencies of aviation industry specialists. 

Also this year, the summit discussed sustainable development and the path to zero emissions. The event was attended by more than 20 aviation experts from the public and private sectors, as well as Mr. Katalin Radu, the Director General of the “Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan” JSC, Mr. Zhasurbek Choriyev, the Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, Mr. Karen Chan, the Commercial Director of the Malaysian Air Asia Aviation Group, Mr. Ardak Utepov, the Deputy Director General of “Kazaeronavigatsia” RSE and others.

Mr. Ardak Utepov, the representative of "Kazaeronavigatsia" RSE, in his speech, emphasized the importance of Kazakhstan as a connecting link of business activity of two continents. Today, the compliance level of the air navigation system of the Republic of Kazakhstan with ICAO standards is 95%. He also noted the importance of such international platforms as an effective means for developing the best solutions, discussing current issues and exchanging experiences between countries.

It is worth noting that in 2023, in the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan, specialists of “Kazaeronavigatsia” RSE serviced 415,497 flights, which is 5,015 more flights than in 2022.

During the Central Asian Aviation Summit, the audience was presented with an international concept for the development of the aviation market in Kazakhstan, panel discussions took place, as well as a session of presentations of TravelTech-projects was held, during which specialists working in the aviation industry presented their startup projects.
