The agreement between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in the field of air rescue has been submitted for ratification

The document contains the basis for cooperation, rules and powers of rescue services during rescue operations in border regions.
At the plenary meeting of the Senate of Parliament Deputy Minister of Transport Talgat Lastayev presented a draft law on the ratification of the agreement between the Government of the
Republic of Kazakhstan and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic on cooperation in the field of aviation search and rescue.
Having familiarized the deputies with the contents of the document, the vice minister reported on its goals and objectives. According to T. Lastaev, the basis for concluding the agreement on cooperation in the field of aviation search and rescue is the requirement of the Convention on International Civil Aviation (clause 3.1.5, Appendix 12 “Search and Rescue”).
The agreement is aimed at cooperation between states to search and rescue passengers and crews of aircraft in distress, in accordance with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The objectives of the agreement include strengthening mutual cooperation to search and rescue passengers and crews of aircraft in distress, mutual notification of aviation accidents, taking the necessary measures to search and rescue passengers, conducting joint exercises of search and rescue services, and exchanging information and experience.
The Agreement defines the regulatory framework for joint search and rescue operations, the boundaries of search and rescue areas, the competent authorities responsible for the implementation of the Agreement, and also provides for the right of mutual assistance during search operations.
Ratification of the agreement does not entail legal or social consequences.
