Production of the first industrial helicopter VRT500 is scheduled for 2021

New helicopter VRT500, developed by "Helicopters of Russia" may come into production in record time. The "Russian Helicopters" reported that at the moment the development of working design documentation of the rotorcraft has begun. This stage is planned to be completed by the end of 2021 with the release of the first production VRT500 helicopter at the Ulan-Ude aviation plant.

The beginning of tests of the first prototype is planned for 2020. However, plans to release a serial helicopter a year after the first flight look quite bold.

Alexander Okhonko, General Director of the design Bureau "VR-Technologies", a subsidiary of the holding, which is engaged in the development of VRT500, noted that the potential market for the implementation of the rotorcraft is Europe. Therefore, this year it is planned to apply for certification of the helicopter in the European aviation safety Agency (EASA).
