Air taxi is being tested in Singapore

The civil aviation authority of Singapore (CAAS) plans to begin testing air taxis in 2019, according to Channel News Asia.

It is reported that the taxi will look like a helicopter, but it is supposed to use the technology of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Take-off and landing will be carried out in an upright position by remote control or fully Autonomous.
The cabin can accommodate two people. The machine is able to overcome a distance of 30 kilometers.
Testing will be carried out over water, not over residential areas, the publication clarifies.
