Modernization of the capital's airport will begin in the spring of this year

At the Astana airport, chaired by Vice Minister of Transport Talgat Lastaev, a meeting was held on the preparation for the reconstruction of the runway with the participation of interested government bodies and organizations. The existing airport runway was put into operation 20 years ago, and until now only routine repairs of airfield pavements have been carried out. Reconstruction of the runway was one of the main and primary tasks when transferring the airport to trust management of the investor. The Terminals Holding company informed about the upcoming schedule of preparatory, construction and installation work, according to which the start of reconstruction is scheduled for the end of March of this year.

It should be noted that the project will be implemented using private funds from the investor and will be completed in the spring of 2025. The reconstruction of the runway will improve flight safety and help increase the transit potential of the air harbor. In turn, the Ministry indicated the need to carry out work without suspending flights at the airport.
