Boeing to reduce production of 737 MAX aircraft

The American Boeing Corporation decided to reduce the production of 737 MAX aircraft by almost one fifth. It is reported by the Rosbalt website.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the company said that by mid-April it will reduce the number of production of the best-selling aircraft before. Production will be reduced from 52 to 42 aircraft per month.The company did not specify a date when it will increase production again. At the same time, Boeing does not plan to reduce the number of workers to minimize financial consequences.

It is also planned to assemble a special Committee that will develop new aircraft.

Over the past six months, there have been two plane crashes involving Boeing 737 MAX. In October 2018 in Indonesia crashed liner airline Lion Air; then killed 189 people. On March 10, the airliner Ethiopian Airlians crashed a few minutes after departure from the capital of Ethiopia, all 157 people on board were killed.

After the crash in Ethiopia, many countries banned Boeing 737 MAX flights over their territories, and Boeing suspended their deliveries to customers. The head of Boeing Dennis Melenberg promised to take necessary measures and make the planes of the 737 MAX series more secure.
